Nectarines and melon dominate the aroma while the palate demonstrates peaches and nuts with interlaced oak balanced by natural acidity.

Morton Estates vineyards are concentrated in Hawkes Bay on the east coast of the North Island, and in Marlborough on the northern tip of the South Island. Both of these regions are well recognised for their outstanding whites: Marlborough consistently producing the worlds most awarded Sauvignon Blancs, and Hawkes Bay, best known for its Chardonnays.

Aromas of tropical melon and pineapple being backed up by a lovely minerality. The palate displays lovely tropical characters, moving into a mid palate with an excellent creamy texture and weight from extended lees contact and barrel ageing.

Succulent vibrant nectarine introduces the wine, this then leads into a textured rock melon influenced mid palate and a ripe phenolic driven finish, this along with the natural acidity helps balances the wines off-dry style.

The wine displays guava, passionfruit and gooseberry flavours underscored by nettle and chamomile floral notes; These same fruit characters introduce the wine onto the palate, moving into a textured mid-palate and supple acidity the wine finishes with a touch of nettle.

The fertile and finer soils of Grovetown are complemented with slightly warmer temperatures over harvest. This combination help to produce Pinot Gris with lovely depth and texture whilst retaining bright fruit aromatics.
